Bio-Oil Creator Sampling Privacy Notice

How DIRT AND GLORY MEDIA LTD uses information for the Bio-Oil product gifting programme

Last updated 9 September 2026

This notice applies to UK-based content creators who apply to receive a complimentary Bio-Oil product sample. It explains how we assess applications, arrange delivery for selected creators and retain details for future gifting opportunities. Applying does not guarantee that you will receive a product, and selected creators are under no obligation to create or publish content.

Who controls your information

DIRT AND GLORY MEDIA LTD, company number 09070869, is the controller of the personal information collected through this programme. Our registered office is 35 Ballards Lane, Finchley, London, N3 1XW.

Bio-Oil, its owner Union Swiss and its UK distributor Perrigo do not receive identifiable applications or other applicant-level personal information from us. We may provide them with aggregated campaign information that does not identify individual applicants.

Information we collect

The application form asks for:

  • your first and last name and email address;
  • confirmation that you are aged 18 or over;
  • your Instagram handle and, if you choose to provide it, your TikTok handle;
  • the type of content you create, how often you post and your approximate Instagram follower range;
  • the part of the UK in which you are based;
  • your postal address, including town or city, county where provided and postcode;
  • a short description of your content and why you are interested in Bio-Oil; and
  • the Bio-Oil products you are interested in trialling.

We may also record the date and time of submission, campaign source, correspondence about your application, selection and fulfilment status, delivery issues and internal notes needed to administer the programme.

The form does not ask for health information or other special category personal information. Please do not include this in free-text answers. If we receive sensitive information unexpectedly, we will restrict access and delete it where it is not needed.

How and why we use information

Assessing your application

We review your creator profile, content category, activity, audience range, location, product preferences and free-text answer to assess suitability and allocate a limited number of samples. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a relevant, fair and effective product gifting programme and preventing duplicate or inappropriate applications.

Communicating with you

We use your name and email address to confirm or clarify your application, tell you whether you have been selected and deal with questions or complaints. We rely on our legitimate interests in administering the programme and maintaining clear records.

Preparing and delivering samples

If you are selected, we use your name, postal address, product allocation and any delivery information needed to prepare, dispatch and track your package. We rely on our legitimate interests in fulfilling the gifting programme and resolving delivery problems.

Future product gifting opportunities

If you separately choose to hear from us, we may keep your application for up to 12 months and contact you by email about another relevant product gifting opportunity. We rely on your consent for this contact. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, and doing so will not affect the handling of your current application.

Campaign administration and protection

We keep appropriate records to monitor allocation and delivery, understand campaign reach, prevent misuse, maintain security, respond to complaints and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We rely on legitimate interests and, where applicable, legal obligations. Reports provided to Bio-Oil, Union Swiss or Perrigo are aggregated and do not identify applicants.

Providing information and selection decisions

Fields marked as required are needed to assess your application or arrange delivery. If you do not provide them, we may be unable to consider your application or send a sample. Applications are reviewed individually against campaign criteria and available stock. We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Where information comes from

We collect the information directly from you through the Google Form and through any later correspondence. We may review the public social-media profiles identified by the handles you provide to understand the content you create and assess your application. Google may process technical information when it provides the form service under its own terms and privacy information.

Who we share information with

We share only the information needed for the programme with:

  • Google, which provides the form and associated workspace services used to collect and store applications;
  • High Jam, which supports the distribution process;
  • Mango Logistics, High Jam's warehouse and fulfilment provider, which prepares and dispatches packages;
  • email, cloud-storage, IT and security providers that support our administration of the programme; and
  • professional advisers, courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where reasonably necessary or required by law.

High Jam and Mango Logistics receive only the selected creator's name, delivery address, allocated product and any other information reasonably necessary to prepare and deliver the package. Organisations processing information on our behalf must protect it and use it only for the agreed service.

We do not pass identifiable applicant information to Bio-Oil, Union Swiss or Perrigo, and we do not sell applicant information.

International transfers

Some technology and service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this amounts to a restricted transfer, we use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses. We also assess whether additional protections are needed. Contact us if you would like more information about safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep information

We normally keep identifiable application and campaign records for 12 months from the date you submit the form. This allows us to administer the programme, resolve delivery issues and complaints, maintain campaign records and, where you have separately opted in, consider you for future product gifting opportunities.

We then securely delete or anonymise the information unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. High Jam, Mango Logistics and other service providers must delete or return personal information in line with our instructions and their agreed retention arrangements. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify anyone may be kept for longer.

No obligation to create content

Receiving a complimentary product does not require you to create, publish or share content. We do not use the application information to monitor whether selected creators post about the product. If you independently choose to publish content, the platform on which you post applies its own terms and privacy information.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and our lawful basis, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain information in a portable format where the legal conditions apply; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. We may ask for information to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one month and do not usually charge a fee.

Your right to object. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue or need the information for legal claims. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing at any time.

How we protect information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, disclosure, access or destruction. Access is limited to people who need the information for their work, and we require service providers to protect information entrusted to them.

No online service can be guaranteed completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will assess it promptly and notify affected individuals and the Information Commissioner's Office where the law requires us to do so.
